FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) - Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, forward Thomas Mueller and midfielder Toni Kroos have been left off Germany’s roster for next month’s exhibition game against the United States and a European Championship qualifier against Gibraltar.

The trio of World Cup champions are being rested after a busy season, coach Joachim Loew said Monday. Loew also said Neuer has several injuries that need treatment.

Defender Benedikt Hoewedes will miss the June 10 game against the Americans in Cologne because of an ankle injury. Forwards Marco Reus and Julian Draxler are on call following injury-plagued seasons.

Midfielder Patrick Herrmann could make his Germany debut.

Germany plays plays Gibraltar on June 13 at Faro, Portugal.
