BLUE, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma authorities have identified a woman who was killed when a tornado destroyed her home.
The Chief Medical Examiner’s office said Tuesday that 48-year-old Sandra Swinney died in a Monday tornado.
Bryan County Sheriff’s Office Chief Investigator Nathan Calloway tells KXII-TV that Swinney’s body was found Monday afternoon after a tornado struck her mobile home. The storm uprooted dozens of trees and ripped the roofs off of area homes.
The National Weather Service issued multiple tornado warnings Monday as a storm system spawned twisters and high winds across much of central and eastern Oklahoma.
Blue is a town of about 200 people located 60 miles east of Ardmore.
