MACON, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say a man who was a person of interest in a Macon woman’s death has been found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
WMAZ-TV (https://on.wmaz.com/1FRpBmr) reports 30-year-old LaSmockie Fountain was shot in the head Saturday at a home in Macon during an apparent domestic dispute. Coroner Leon Jones said 38-year-old Derrick Khunta Booze was found dead in the backyard of a house in south Macon Monday evening.
Fountain’s family says she and Booze dated in the past, but the relationship was violent.
Booze was a convicted felon with four active warrants out including aggravated assault.
The Sheriff’s Office said those warrants came about a week ago when Booze pointed a gun at Fountain at the same home.
