FIGURE EIGHT ISLAND, N.C. (AP) - The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man in the waters surrounding Figure Eight Island.
Multiple news sources report a man died Monday afternoon. Sheriff’s office Lt. Jerry Brewer says no foul play is suspected, but deputies are conducting an investigation.
Brewer says the identity of the victim will not be released until next of kin is notified.
