Pope Francis told an Argentinian newspaper that he hasn’t watched television in roughly 25 years.

The head of the Catholic Church told La Voz del Pueblo on Sunday that he made a promise to the Virgin Mary and hasn’t watched television since July 15, 1990.

“No es para mi,” (it’s not for me) he told the newspaper, NBC reported Monday.

The pope said his vow has made keeping up with his favorite soccer team a bit tricky, but that his Swiss Guard informs him on how Buenos Aires-based San Lorenzo is doing, NBC reported.
