SHERIDAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - School officials have identified three people killed in southern Michigan when a 16-year-old driver crossed the median on Interstate 94 and struck another vehicle head-on.

The crash happened Sunday in Calhoun County’s Sheridan Township, east of Albion.

The sheriff’s department says an Albion boy was eastbound when his vehicle hit a westbound vehicle. The department says the crash killed a 16-year-old boy in the teen’s car and injured two 15-year-old girls. It says a 74-year-old Jackson woman and a 77-year-old Columbus, Ohio, woman in the westbound vehicle died and a 57-year-old Jackson man was injured.

The Jackson Public Schools says Maseo Moore, a junior at Jackson High School, died. The district says 74-year-old Ella Blackwell, a former secretary at Jackson High School, and Blackwell’s 77-year-old sister, Ethel Brinstone, also died.
