OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Thousands of people are expected to line streets in Omaha and Council Bluffs, Iowa, for the funeral procession of an Omaha police officer shot and killed last week.

The funeral for Officer Kerrie Orozco is being held Tuesday morning at St. John’s Catholic Church at Creighton University in Omaha. Her burial is to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Council Bluffs, where she lived with her husband and children.

Omaha police have asked the public to wear blue as they line the 8.5-mile procession route from the church to the cemetery. People also are expected to wave flags and carry supportive signs along the route.
