BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - Two people have been hospitalized after a police cruiser they were in hit another car and crashed into a Chinese restaurant.
Witnesses tell the Connecticut Post (https://bit.ly/1J4u44o) the cruiser was driving in Bridgeport Tuesday afternoon with its siren off. They say it swerved to avoid hitting a small gray sedan but hit the car anyway. The car then jumped the curb and smashed into the metal gates of a closed Chinese takeout restaurant.
Fire officials say both the male officer and the passenger of the gray car were taken to local hospitals with injuries that aren’t life-threatening.
City officials didn’t say if the cruiser was speeding.
The gray car didn’t appear to have much damage.
The names of those involved in the accident were not immediately available.
