WASHINGTON (AP) - Military veterans living in the 12th Congressional District now have a place to get information on legislation affecting them or secure help with their respective cases.

Rep. Alma S. Adams has announced the hotline, which features a telephone number veterans can call to receive legislative updates as well as an email address veterans can contact to request casework assistance. The hotline will be operated by staffers in Adams’ office who cover veterans’ issues.

The hotline is also available for veterans who need help obtaining benefits, fixing their military records or who need assistance with other issues that concern the Department of Veterans Affairs. The hotline will be available during normal office hours.

According to Adams, there are more than 37,000 veterans in the 12th District.
