BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - LSU offensive lineman Jevonte Domond was awaiting release on bond following his arrest in a domestic abuse case.

Online booking records show Domond was jailed Monday. The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1dxZJzJ ) that his bond was set at $3,000 during a Wednesday hearing.

The 22-year-old Domond was booked on a felony count of domestic abuse battery.

The newspaper reports he has been suspended from the LSU football team. LSU officials did not immediately return messages seeking comment.

At the hearing his fiancee told a state judge she wasn’t afraid of Domond and needed him to help care for their newborn baby. She did not request a protective order.

Domond transferred to LSU from Glendale Community College in Arizona last summer and has played in one game for the Tigers.
