PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia’s fire commissioner says a woman has been found dead inside a burning home that had no smoke detectors.

Fire Commissioner Derrick Sawyer didn’t immediately release the name of the woman who perished in the blaze Wednesday morning in the city’s Brewerytown neighborhood.

The fire was reported about 6:50 a.m. and was under control about 15 minutes later.

Sawyer says there was one smoke detector in the home’s basement, but that it wasn’t working.

Crews were trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
