LOS ANGELES (AP) - A retired Los Angeles police detective who kept hundreds of child pornography images on his computer won’t be going to prison.
Sixty-nine-year-old Charles Henderson was sentenced Wednesday to 30 days of community labor and a year of counseling. He also was placed on five years of probation and must register as a sex offender for life.
Henderson worked for the LAPD for 20 years.
Prosecutors say a search of his Downey home last October turned up more than 600 images of child porn.
He pleaded no contest last month to felony possession of child pornography.
