PENDLETON, Ore. (AP) - Pilot Rock officials say flood waters are receding to leave mud, rocks, debris and not much damage behind.

The East Oregonian reports (https://bit.ly/1BpsKmr) Pilot Rock Rural Fire Protection District Capt. Jeff Hemphill says Friday’s heavy rain flooded Birch Creek Road and damaged several homes and barns.

The National Weather Service reported 1.5 inches of rain fell on the city in 45 minutes.

One home had water rise in a crawlspace to three feet and two basements were flooded. There was a foot of water along a quarter mile of East Birch Creek Road.

Umatilla County emergency manager Jack Remillard says Oregon transportation officials should check a portion of Highway 395 west of Pilot Rock where it appears water washed away a guardrail and some pavement.
