OSAKA, Japan (AP) - Gamba Osaka advanced to the Asian Champions League quarterfinals with a 3-2 win over FC Seoul on Wednesday.

Patric and Shu Kurata scored in the first half and Lins added another after the break as the J-League treble winners became the second Japanese club after Kashiwa Reysol to advance to the 2015 quarterfinals. Yun Ju-tae scored both goals for the visitors, who lost the first leg at home 3-1.

Patric put the hosts ahead with a header off a cross from Takashi Usami in the 16th minute, and Kurata doubled the advantage just before halftime.

Yun pulled one back for FC Seoul early in the second half but Lins restored the two-goal lead with four minutes left in regulation. Yun added another in stoppage time for the visitors.

Gamba returns to the quarterfinals for the first time since winning the title in 2008.

Elsewhere, Guangzhou Evergrande advanced 3-2 on aggregate after a 2-0 win over South Korean side Seongnam FC in Guangzhou, China.

Roberto Goulart scored a goal in each half to lead the 2013 champions, who reached the quarterfinals for the fourth consecutive time.

In western zone matches, Al Ahli of the United Arab Emirates and Naft Tehran of Iran both advanced on the away goals rule.

Al Ahli qualified for the quarterfinals for the first time after a 3-3 draw with fellow United Arab Emirates side Al Ain, following a 0-0 draw in last week’s first leg in Dubai. At Al Ain’s Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium on Wednesday, Al Ahli trailed 1-0 at halftime before scoring three goals in six minutes early in the second half.

At Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Naft Tehran also advanced to the final eight for the first time despite losing 2-1 against Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli.

The Iranians led 1-0 from the first leg in Tehran, and advanced after settling for a 2-2 draw on aggregate.
