HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - Huntington City Council has placed restrictions on where businesses that sell, manufacturer or repair guns can open in the city.
A new ordinance bans firearms businesses from opening in neighborhood commercial districts. Such businesses must obtain a special permit to open in the city’s central business district.
Firearms businesses are allowed in highway commercial and industrial zones.
The Herald-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1JVhSDF ) reports that City Council approved the ordinance on Tuesday.
Ten existing firearms businesses won’t be affected by the ordinance. Seven of the businesses are pawn shops.
