HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Huntsville police have released the identity of a man hit and killed by a train.

Local media reports 28-year-old Justin Hayes Lamon was struck by the train around 2 a.m. Monday north of the Oakwood and Davidson crossing. Lamon died at the scene.

Huntsville police said the conductor of the Norfolk Southern train saw the man lying on the tracks and blew the horn several times. Lamon never moved. Authorities say headphones were found at the scene and believe he might have been listening to music when the accident occurred.

Police shut down Oakwood Avenue to investigate.
