NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Louisiana’s unemployment rate remained unchanged in April.

The state’s jobless rate of 6.6 percent in April remained the same as the rate in March. That’s well above the 5.7 percent the state recorded in April 2014.

Nebraska had the lowest jobless rate in April, 2.5 percent. Nevada had the highest rate among the states, 7.1 percent. The District of Columbia had a rate of 7.5 percent.

The report found 145,300 Louisianans were unemployed in April, a slight increase from March.

Figures adjusted to cancel out seasonal changes were released Wednesday by the U.S. Labor Department.
