NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) - A 22-year-old man is dead and police were trying to get witnesses to cooperate to identify his assailant after a fatal shooting at a busy park in North Las Vegas.

Officer Aaron Patty said Wednesday the man was shot about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday after an argument with the assailant at Craig Ranch Regional Park.

The victim’s name wasn’t immediately made public.

Patty says the confrontation was not a random act.

Patty says the victim was taken by private vehicle to University Medical Center in Las Vegas. That’s where he was pronounced dead.

The shooter was gone when police arrived at the park near Craig Road and Commerce Street.

Patty says there were a lot of people in the park, but few say they saw or heard anything.
