BOISE, Idaho (AP) - A California Man who stuffed illicit pills inside teddy bears and shipped them to Boise was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

The Idaho Statesman reports (https://is.gd/5daM68 ) that 26-year-old Ajellon “Jeezy” Dedeaux was sentenced in Boise Tuesday. He pleaded guilty in March in federal court to conspiracy to distribute oxycodone.

Prosecutors say Dedeaux, of Rancho Cordova, California, sent regular shipments through to addresses in Boise and Meridian, helping a Boise-based group sell 5,000 oxycodone pills a month over three years.

According to the indictment against Dedeaux, a shipment seized in February 2014 contained a stuffed bear, a box of crayons and a “Friends Together” diary. Two hundred 30-milligram tablets of oxycodone were found hidden in the bear.

Eight other defendants pleaded guilty in the case and have been sentenced.
