Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley plans to hit the early presidential states of Iowa and New Hampshire this weekend after he announces in Baltimore on Saturday whether he will seek the 2016 Democratic nomination for president.

His team on Wednesday put out upcoming schedules for Mr. O’Malley that include meet-and-greets in Davenport and Des Moines in Iowa on Saturday, followed by a Sunday trip to New Hampshire that is to include stops in Manchester, Gilford, and Hanover.

Mr. O’Malley’s announcement on his 2016 plans is scheduled for 10 a.m. at Federal Hill Park. He would be the third major candidate to announce a 2016 run for president on the Democratic side, following former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and independent Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont.
