WALLAGRASS, Maine (AP) - Police in Maine say a 21-year-old woman died after losing control of her vehicle while driving in a small town near the state’s border with Canada.

Police say Alesha Kelley of Wallagrass died at the scene of a 9:50 a.m. crash in her hometown on Wednesday. She lost control of her car while taking a corner and skidded off the roadway, rolling over into a ditch and hitting several trees. Police say the vehicle caught fire, which was extinguished by a state trooper and the Fort Kent Fire Department.

Police say speed was a favor in the crash.
