FREEPORT, N.Y. (AP) - A Long Island mother and daughter have been arrested on drug charges.

Authorities say 51-year-old Denise Burke and her 18-year-old daughter Danielle were arrested Monday and charged with criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance in Freeport.

Police say they were caught selling heroin on Monday.

Authorities say officers have been called to the Burke home more than 20 times since 2008 for domestic complaints and other issues.

The mother was also charged in 2013 along with her son with heroin possession.

Both pleaded not guilty to the charges Tuesday. They were represented by court-appointed attorneys and had not posted bail as of late Tuesday. No one answered the door for a Newsday reporter at their home.
