HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. (AP) - A 6-foot alligator named Rocky has gotten a new home after his owner decided he was too big to handle.
Chief Roy Gross of New York’s Suffolk County SPCA said Wednesday that a herpetologist from the Rainforest Reptile Sanctuary in Massachusetts is taking Rocky.
The previous owner, who had a license to possess the 17-year-old animal, had initially used Rocky for educational purposes.
According to Newsday (https://nwsdy.li/1HwEC85 ), he says alligators are dangerous and don’t make good pets.
