WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. (AP) - Sam O’Dell holds a six-stroke lead midway through the West Virginia Amateur at The Greenbrier resort.

The Hurricane dentist shot an even-par 70 Wednesday on the Old White TPC Course and is at 6-under par through two rounds.

O’Dell entered the day with a one-stroke lead over Vienna’s Alan Cooke. Cook shot 5-over 75 Wednesday but remains in second place at even par.

Wheeling’s Thadd Obecny and Charleston’s Christian Casingal are tied at 1 over. Obecny shot 72 and Casingal had a 71 in the second round.

Davey Jude of Kermit was 4 under on his round through 10 holes before three bogeys and a double-bogey left him with a 71. He’s tied at 2 over with Marshall golfer Will Evans. Evans shot 73 Wednesday.

The tournament runs through Friday.
