LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Police are looking for a robber who attacked a woman inside her Lexington home.

WKYT-TV (https://bit.ly/1J2G0DP ) reports the Lexington Police Department says the man struck up a conversation with the victim outside her home Tuesday morning. Officers said after he distracted her with small talk, he pulled out a knife and forced the woman into her home where a young child was sleeping in a bedroom. The victim’s husband told the station the man stole his wife’s purse and wedding ring.

After the attacker robbed the woman, officers say he fled through a back door.

Police said the woman was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital with lacerations and facial injuries.
