ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Albuquerque police say domestic dispute ended with a man missing part of his ear and being taken to jail.

The Albuquerque Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1HvEoOF ) that Jerome Elycio has been charged with aggravated battery on a household member and false imprisonment, and is being held on $20,000 bail after a fight with his girlfriend this weekend.

The girlfriend says Elycio slammed her head into a wall and tried to strangle her. She then bit off a chunk of his ear during the fight.

Police say when they arrived at the home Saturday the girlfriend tried to hand officers the ear chunk.

The girlfriend says she grabbed her 1-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter and tried to leave, but Elycio stopped them.

The girlfriend was booked into jail on an unrelated warrant for failure to appear in court.
