SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Two men are suspected of stealing copper wire from electrical boxes along a bike path leading to the Bay Bridge.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/1KrHh6e) California Highway Patrol officer Clayton Nett says copper theft has become more common in recent months as the metal’s value increased.

Patrol officers arrested the Oakland men Wednesday afternoon and confiscated a bag of wire from one of them, as well as burglary tools.
