CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - The University Office of Institutional Research at Clemson says nine of the school’s athletic teams finished the spring semester with grade point averages of 3.0 or better.

Women’s tennis led the way with a department-high 3.58 GPA for the spring. Diving at 3.48 was next, followed women’s soccer (3.42), rowing (3.40), women’s golf (3.32), men’s soccer (3.30), men’s tennis (3.22), volleyball (3.18) and baseball (3.04).

For men’s soccer, it was the program’s best showing.

The athletic department had six teams reach 3.0 in the 2014 spring semester.

Football was at the bottom of Clemson’s 15 athletic teams with a 2.61 grade-point average in the spring.
