WEST MONROE, La. (AP) - Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries agents are in West Monroe where a black bear has been spotted.

Wildlife Biologist John Hanks tells The News-Star (https://tnsne.ws/1AyjVLG) the young bear probably made its way into the city Tuesday night.

Hanks and other agents have set traps for the bear and say they are waiting him out.

The agents are using doughnuts to attract the bear and hope to relocate him to a more suitable habitat.

Hanks says that as long as people respect the bear, there should be no problems.
