RIGGINS, Idaho (AP) - Authorities have recovered the body of a 35-year-old Coeur d’Alene man who went missing in the Salmon River near Riggins.

The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office says family and friends on Wednesday found the body of Jason Gritten about 9 miles downstream from where he was reported missing on May 17.

Another Coeur d’Alene man, 27-year-old Patrick Lusk, who also disappeared is still missing.

Authorities say a person on May 18 reported finding a canoe upside down the day before in the river about half a mile below French Creek.

A search by authorities failed to find Gritten and Lusk, and the search was suspended.

But family and friends continued to search and found Gritten’s body, which was taken to a funeral home in Grangeville.
