TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Child safety officials are rolling out a resource website and emergency resource center next month as they increase efforts to recruit and retain foster parents.
KJZZ-FM reports (https://bit.ly/1FiqcIk) Department of Child Safety director Gregory Kay says the current system is overrun with a 50 percent increase in the last five years of kids needing homes and not enough foster parents to take them.
DCS created a commission to come up with ways to recruit more eligible foster parents and keep those who are already caring for children.
