GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A 42-year-old Gulfport man is awaiting trial on federal criminal charges in a conspiracy to distribute cocaine and heroin in Harrison County.
Court records show Omar Dancer is accused in a conspiracy to distribute 5 kilos of cocaine and 1 kilo of heroin in Harrison County as early as February 2014.
The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1FEIqpH) the grand jury indicted him on conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance and attempt to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
After Dancer’s initial court appearance and his detention hearing, Magistrate Judge John C. Gargiulo found no grounds to release him on bond.
Dancer is jailed in Hancock County.
His trial is scheduled for July.
Online jail records did not list an attorney for Dancer.
