BRANDON, Miss. (AP) - Gov. Phil Bryant has appointed John McLaurin Jr. as Rankin County chancery judge.
The Brandon attorney replaces the late Dan Fairly, who died in April.
Bryant announced the appointment in a news release Wednesday.
McLaurin holds a bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University and graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Law. He has practiced law at McLaurin & McLaurin since 1976.
In 2007, McLaurin was appointed Rankin County Chancery Court Family Master.
