BRANDON, Miss. (AP) - Gov. Phil Bryant has appointed John McLaurin Jr. as Rankin County chancery judge.

The Brandon attorney replaces the late Dan Fairly, who died in April.

Bryant announced the appointment in a news release Wednesday.

In 2007, McLaurin was appointed Rankin County Chancery Court Family Master.
