SACO, Maine (AP) - Maine police say the person who died in a single-vehicle crash on the Maine Turnpike in Saco was a 30-year-old Saco resident.

Troopers say Michael Cantara’s car went off the road and came to a stop in a group of trees on Thursday morning. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash. They say Cantara’s car slammed into a speed limit sign and the vehicle ended up about 20 feet into the woods alongside the turnpike. He died instantly.

Police say they found another driver who may have witnessed the crash.
