HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - An East Windsor man has been charged with a fatal stabbing inside a Hartford liquor store.
Hartford police say 36-year-old Paul Hunter stabbed an acquaintance inside Blue’s Package Store on Barbour Street at about 7 p.m. Wednesday during an argument about a woman.
Police identified the victim as 23-year-old Alford Grayson of Hartford.
Hunter was taken into custody after a brief foot chase. He is charged with murder, assault on a police officer, interfering with police and carrying a dangerous weapon.
Hunter was being held Thursday in lieu of $1.5 million bond. His response to the allegations isn’t known. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer.
The homicide was the 12th in Hartford this year, and the fifth in the past two weeks.
