CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Emergency and medical workers are urging South Carolina residents to be prepared for the upcoming hurricane season.
The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston is holding its annual Hurricane Awareness Day on Thursday. The event on the school’s Horseshoe features organizations that can help families make their hurricane preparedness plans.
There will also be a panel discussion with representatives from the Charleston County Emergency Management Division, the National Weather Service, MUSC, the American Red Cross and the Highway Patrol.
The north Atlantic Hurricane season starts on Monday.
