PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Providence police are investigating the shooting of a 29-year-old woman.
Police say the woman was taken to Rhode Island Hospital in a private vehicle after being shot at about 8 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Broad and Stanwood Streets near Calvary Baptist Church.
The woman’s name was not immediately made public and the seriousness of her injuries was not disclosed.
Authorities said they are trying to determine whether the victim was walking or in a vehicle when she was shot.
It was also unclear if the shots came from a vehicle or someone on foot.
There was no word on arrests.
