ROSWELL, N.M. (AP) - Investigators are deciding whether criminal charges will be filed after a two-year-old girl was pulled from an above ground pool in a Roswell backyard.

The Roswell Daily Record reports (https://bit.ly/1HOKK11) a Wednesday morning 911 call informed police the girl’s father had woken up from a nap after working the night shift and found the toddler, who was described as having blue lips and pruned fingers.

She was pronounced dead at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center.

Roswell Police Public Information Officer Todd Wildermuth says the child’s father was taken into custody on an unrelated warrant. The investigation is ongoing.
