NORTH MASSAPEQUA, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say New York state troopers dispatched to help a disabled limousine found its driver asleep and drunk on the exit ramp of a Long Island highway.
Newsday reports (https://nwsdy.li/1HNWTQT ) 33-year-old Cristian Quizhpi was charged Wednesday with DWI. Police say his blood alcohol content was .17 percent. That’s more than twice the legal limit.
Authorities say the New York City man dropped off some passengers and was trying to get back to Queens, but had too many beers. Police woke him up in his limo just before 4:25 a.m.
Quizhpi could not be reached by Newsday for comment.
He’s scheduled to appear in court on June 8.
