FLINT, Mich. (AP) - Police say a man is dead following a shooting while people gathered at a Flint park to mourn the recent death of another man.
The Flint Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1eyUAYr ) police responded around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday. Chief James Tolbert says police found a 35-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the neck. He was taken to an area hospital, where he died.
Police are looking for a male suspect.
Tolbert says people had gathered to mourn a man who recently died of natural causes. He called the shooting “ridiculous.” He says it’s “a concern when people can’t mourn a friend without having an outbreak of violence; it doesn’t make any sense.”
Tolbert says the department, with help from federal partners, is looking at ways to deal with guns on the streets.
