COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Police say a Colorado Springs man who was pulled from a burning house and died from a drug overdose set the fire.

The Gazette of Colorado Springs reports (https://bit.ly/1dyXdcB ) that investigators ruled Wednesday that 40-year-old Jasen Martinez caused the April 11 fire.

A Colorado Springs police spokeswoman says investigators are waiting for one more report before the case is closed.

The fire started in the basement of the home but it’s not clear how.

The El Paso County coroner says Martinez had been intoxicated with methamphetamine and cocaine and ruled the death an accidental overdose. The report says that Martinez’s weight of 360 pounds was a significant factor in his death.
