GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (AP) - The Salvation Army is starting a new program to provide food this summer to kids in Grand Island who receive free or reduced-price lunches during the school year.
The Grand Island Independent (https://bit.ly/1SDHcC3 ) reports the program will run from June 1 to Aug. 7, and will provide activities as well.
Capt. Ann Mealy with the Salvation Army said seeing the results of similar programs at her past appointments motivated her to start one in Grand Island.
