MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (AP) - A 34-foot-tall stainless steel artwork will soon stand in Marshalltown.

The Times-Republican reports (https://bit.ly/1J5ExOr ) that workers on Wednesday delivered the shiny pieces of steel to a site on North 13th Street.

It will be set up in the next few days in a green space, making it the first public art project organized by the Marshalltown Public Art Committee.

The exact timing depends on welding and electrical work and the construction of a small concrete platform.

The sculpture, named Echo, was created by Bruce White, an artist from DeKalb, Illinois. It has a horse shoe shape and when completed, its ends will point skyward.

The art was funded primarily through contributions and grants.
