MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) - Authorities in Mitchell say an SUV caught fire at a car dealership as a couple was finishing a test drive.

Fire Marshal Marius Laursen tells The Mitchell Daily Republic (https://bit.ly/1JXQ29P ) that a salesman from the Vern Eide Chevrolet took the couple out in a Buick Enclave on Thursday afternoon. Upon returning, he noticed smoke pouring out from the hood. The car soon caught fire and became engulfed in flames.

No one was injured, but the SUV was totaled and two other cars were damaged.

Laursen says a mechanical failure may have caused the fire.
