VIENNA (AP) - Austria Vienna has appointed former Bayern Munich midfielder Thorsten Fink as head coach for the next two seasons.

Fink will take over from interim-coach Andreas Ogris, who led the club since Gerald Baumgartner was fired in March.

Austria Vienna sports director Franz Wohlfahrt says Fink’s commitment “is great for our club because of his personality and experience. … He has proven he can build a team with a mixture of experienced players and young talents that plays good, attractive football.”

Fink previously coached Ingolstadt, Basel, Hamburg and Apoel Nicosia. As a player with Bayern Munich, he won four Bundesliga titles and the 2001 Champions League.

Austria Vienna is ranked seventh in the domestic league. It plays champions Salzburg in the Austrian cup final on Wednesday.
