WOONSOCKET, R.I. (AP) - The suspect in a fatal stabbing in Woonsocket earlier this week has been apprehended in Boston.

Woonsocket police said in a statement that 31-year-old Alvin Huggins was found Wednesday at an address in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood.

Huggins is expected to be arraigned Thursday in a Massachusetts courtroom as a fugitive from justice.

Police say Huggins is a suspect in the stabbing death Tuesday of 28-year-old Yanira Flores. Flores was found stabbed in the chest in her home on Willow Street and later died at Landmark Medical Center.

The death was Woonsocket’s first homicide of the year.
