ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta’s police chief is joining the executive board of a national law enforcement organization.

Chief George N. Turner will serve as second vice president of the Major Cities Chiefs Association until December 2017.

The association is composed of 70 police executives from the largest cities in the United States and Canada.

Turner has been Atlanta’s police chief since 2010. He’s been with the department more than three decades.
