DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Former Duke men’s basketball standout Nolan Smith says Durham policemen pulled guns on him during a traffic stop.

The News & Observer (https://bit.ly/1HW7vgP ) reports Smith posted on his Twitter account Thursday about his experience with police Wednesday night. In a series of tweets, Smith wrote he rolled down his window right away and showed them he was harmless, but had guns drawn on him.

Officers say they pulled over Smith’s Chevrolet Tahoe after trailing it for several blocks near the Duke University campus and stopped it because the window was tinted beyond the state legal limit. Officers issued Smith a warning ticket for a tint violation.

Police said late Thursday afternoon there was no record of a complaint filed and no video from the stop was available.
