MINOT, N.D. (AP) - Minot Air Force Base officials are conducting a military exercise they say might alarm the public.

The 5th Bomb Wing on Friday scheduled an exercise focused on the base’s ability to respond and recover from a weather-induced hazardous materials emergency.

The base issued a statement saying the public might hear sirens and loud bangs and see smoke coming from the base.
