FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a northeast Florida teen filed a fake report about two men posing as police officers and trying to get into her vehicle.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office arrested 18-year-old Amanda Roeske on Wednesday after investigators spent hours looking into her claims.

Roeske called 911 on May 5 to say she had been pulled over by a dark van with flashing police lights around 1:30 a.m. She told a dispatcher that two black men wearing dark sweatshirts tried to enter her vehicle.

Officials told The Florida Times-Union (https://bit.ly/1J5Bje1 ) that detectives spent dozens of hours investigating and eventually found physical evidence that derailed Roeske’s story.

She is charged with false report of a crime and is in jail on $25,000 bail.
